Childhood Chocolate Brownies

You know those recipe books from school where everyone in your class submits a recipe and they are bound and sold to raise money for charity? Well, coming from such a big family we had quite a few of these recipe books at home and this particular recipe comes from one of my sister’s class books… It is so easy to make and my brothers are proof that these Chocolate Brownies simply taste delish – they were always asking me to make them 🙂 I have actually had them on my mind for the past few days as my mum had asked me for the recipe to make for my newphew and thought this weekend was perfect timing. This recipe doesn’t actually include nuts but I have added walnuts to this batch (another recent childhood craving).

– 90mls cocoa.
– 1 cup sugar.
– 140gms butter.
– 2 eggs.
– 3/4 cup flour.
– 1 tspn vanilla essence.
– handful of chopped walnuts or pecan nuts

1. Mix first three ingredients together in a bowl.

2. Add eggs one at a time.
3. Add flour and vanilla essence.
4. Mix well.

5. Fold in the chopped nuts

6. Put mixture into baking tray and place in oven at 180degs for 20-25 mins.
7. When they are finished baking, leave to cool and cut into squares.
8. Sprinkle lightly with icing sugar.

Enjoy! The really are Delish!
